What is PGP?
PGP stands for Pretty Good Privacy, and is in essence a computer program that ensures your privacy and proves authenticity of messages. It is used mainly in email to encrypt and/or sign the message content so that only the designated recipient can read the message, and that recipient can unambiguously confirm who the original sender is and whether the message was changed in transit.
GPG is the GNU Open Source implementation of PGP.
